There were several women walking along the road, “aaj do abhi do, le ke rahenge” demanding emphatically a change, a new state.

The usually peaceful town of Mussoorie was in turmoil; they wanted a new state to be carved out of the erstwhile Uttar Pradesh. Curfew, an unheard-of word in this place, had become a part of life in 1996. Women were spearheading the movement. The youth was equally a part of it. College going girls and boys along with their leaders and men who had seen the outside world wanted a change for a better future for the new generation.

“My Heart: A Companion Of The Clouds” is the collection of unrestrained thoughts unaffected and unscathed by the cruel blows of a dreaded disease like Alzheimer’s. The thoughts came to the author’s mind and she jotted it down in her own rich Bengali language. The thoughts are like free-flowing clouds which spreads it’s wings on the blue sky without any restrictions or boundary–hence the name.
