“Finning On Forms Fabulous” is Swati Das’ sixth anthology where she has journeyed further in the territory of poetic forms covering both traditional and hitherto not-so-trodden forms on her part.
Of all the books written by her so far, this one has been the most challenging because when a poet’s emotions are reined in by line-counts or syllable-counts or rhyme scheme (both internal rhymes and end-line rhymes), the task becomes tough. Binding themes, expressions, emotions, imagination etc within a particular form and also retaining the poetic essence could be very demanding.
It has taken almost two years of rigorous efforts on her part to see the final outcome. It is surely a labour of love and hard work.
“Finning On Forms Fabulous” is an honest effort to bring many forms under one umbrella. This could be quite handy to the academia and poetry lovers in pursuit of exploring the world of poetry beyond the commonplace.
